USDA Disaster Designation - March 5, 2021
On March 5, 2021 the USDA issued several Secretarial Disaster Designations for fourteen of Nevada’s counties due to drought conditions. Directly impacted counties include Churchill, Clark, Elko, Esmeralda, Eureka, Humboldt, Lander, Lincoln, Lyon, Mineral, Nye, Pershing, Washoe and White Pine counties. It should additionally be noted that contiguous jurisdictions of Carson City, Douglas County and Storey County were specified in this declaration. These designations provide agriculture and other food production operations in Nevada with access to a wide range of disaster assistance through the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) and the Small Business Administration (SBA) .
